Got back from a week off last night.
As in a proper week off.
No Interwebs. No e-mail. No connectivity. No phone.
It was heaven.
It did help that this was the view from the hotel.
That puddle in the middle is Lake Como. A puddle I didn't know much about until this week. If you said Lake Como to me I could tell you they filmed a bit of the Bond flick Casino Royale there and the Cloonmeister has a villa there. Apart from that I knew nada. (I now know I was just around a headland at one point from where they filmed a bit of Star Wars! But it's from one of the new ones so I can rest easy, as we all know the new films are space junk, and not just because of Jar Jar).
Turns out it IS one of the most beautiful places I've been. It's the edge of the Alps on the Italian/Swiss border so it was always gonna be spectacular. It's the perfect place to perfect doing nothing.
Start the day with tiny weapon strength coffees, and bread products, then lazy beers in lazy cafes watching the world roll lazily by. With the odd lazy wander along the lake. Broken up with the odd blast of quality and economical Italian food like Mama use to make. Mix in with some lazy book reading and you have a tres relaxing holiday. Def worth a visit. Best of all it won't break the bank.
Right. Best catch up on what's been happening in the world for the last five days...
Photo taken with the Nokia 808 phone. Yep. A fricking phone!
